INTERNATIONAL ‘APOLLO’ ARTS AREOPAGUS
On the initiative of the International University of Fundamental Knowledge, for the first time in the history of Russia and the world, the International ‘Apollo’ Arts Areopagus is being held in Saint Petersburg (October 2007). As its name suggests, this event aims to bring together the world’s most eminent artists to identify their greatest achievements across various art forms (literature, painting, theatre, cinema, ballet, etc.).
Apollo (Phoebus) is a Greek Olympian god, guardian of cosmic and human harmony, and bringer of light into life. The Greek language does not allow us to determine the etymology of the name Apollo (it most likely has a non-Indo-European origin). The name ‘Apollo’ itself therefore has an intercontinental significance.
In Greece, the Delphic Games (Pythian Games) (6th century BC – 4th century AD) were held in honour of Apollo, the patron of the arts.
Apollo is a musician (ciphara). He is the patron of singers and musicians, the inspirer and guide of the Muses (Euterpa – lyric poetry, Calliope – epic poetry, Thalia – comedy, Melpomene – tragedy, Terpsichore – dance, Clio – history, etc.) Apollo teaches wisdom and the various arts, puts an end to quarrels and gives strength to the people. Apollo is the organiser and architect of morality and the various arts.
The earliest sculptures of Apollo date back to the 8th–5th centuries BC. The image of Apollo features prominently in the art of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and other historical periods (painting, music, literature, etc.).
The Areopagus was the highest judicial and political authority in ancient Athens, Greece. Allegorically, it represents the highest spiritual court of the spiritual world, including the arts. An assembly of authoritative figures to decide on important matters, including creative issues.
Apollo and the Areopagus are intrinsically aligned in their primary functions and interact organically. Apollo and the Areopagus are symbolic concepts that enjoy international renown and recognition.
The ‘Apollo’ International Areopagus of the Arts organises and stages various creative events (concerts, performances, etc.) with the participation of artists from different countries around the world.
Participants and artists are honoured by the Areopagus jury, which presents them with a marble or plaster statuette of Apollo (Belvedere) in recognition of their outstanding creative achievements.
The prize is awarded according to the different art forms. The main criterion for evaluating an individual work of art, a body of work by an artist from a particular period or taken as a whole, as well as the activities of a representative of any art form over a certain period or throughout a creative lifetime, is the ability to strengthen and develop, through art, interaction between the different peoples of the world, the bearers and representatives of different cultures, for the benefit of every person living on our troubled planet.
The Apollo International Areopagus of Arts, which is a public event, has been held every two years since 2007 in various cities around the world, with the support of public authorities of various types and levels.
A special international fund for the Apollo International Areopagus of Arts is currently being established.
An initiative group, comprising representatives from different countries and various organisations, forms an organising committee for the Areopagus and, on the basis of the applications and suggestions received, determines its composition and that of the Areopagus jury. Subsequently, members of the Areopagus may be elected as jurors.

Comme son nom l’indique, cet événement vise à rassembler les artistes les plus éminents du monde afin de déterminer leurs plus grandes réalisations dans différents types d’art (littérature, peinture, théâtre, cinéma, ballet, etc.).
Apollon (Phéb) est un dieu olympique grec, gardien de l’harmonie cosmique et humaine, porteur de la lumière dans la vie. La langue grecque ne permet pas de divulguer l’étymologie du nom Apollon (il a très probablement une origine non indo-européenne). Le nom « Apollo » lui-même a donc une signification intercontinentale.

Une assemblée de figures d’autorité pour décider de questions importantes, y compris de questions créatives.
Apollon et Aréopage coïncident intérieurement dans leurs fonctions principales et sont en interaction organique. Apollon et l’Aréopage sont des concepts symboliques qui jouissent d’une renommée internationale et d’une reconnaissance internationale.
L’aréopage international des arts « Apollo » organise et réalise divers événements créatifs (concerts, performances, etc.) avec la participation d’artistes de différents pays du monde.
Les participants et les artistes sont honorés par le jury de l’Aréopage qui leur remet la statuette d’Apollon (Belvédère) en marbre ou en plâtre, en récompense de leurs hautes réalisations créatives.
Le prix est décerné en fonction des différentes formes d’art. Le principal critère d’évaluation d’une œuvre d’art individuelle, d’une œuvre d’auteur d’une certaine période ou prise dans son ensemble, ainsi que des activités d’un représentant d’un art quelconque pendant une certaine période ou pendant toute une vie créative, est la capacité de renforcer et de développer par l’art l’interaction entre les différents peuples du monde, les porteurs et les représentants de différentes cultures, pour le bénéfice de chaque personne vivant sur notre planète agitée.
L’Aréopage international des arts d’Apollo, qui est un événement public, se tient tous les deux ans depuis 2007 dans différentes villes du monde, avec le concours d’autorités publiques de différents types et niveaux.
Un fonds international spécial pour l’Apollo International Areopagus of Arts est en cours de création.
Un groupe d’initiative, comprenant des représentants de différents pays et de diverses organisations, forme un comité d’organisation de l’Aréopage et, sur la base des demandes et suggestions reçues, détermine sa composition et celle du jury de l’Aréopage. Par la suite, les membres de l’Aréopage peuvent être élus comme jurés.
